March 2022 update from Dale and Karen Viljoen,
ministering in Sapporo, Japan
"We are co-heirs with Christ and join Him as co-labourers in the great co-mission to tell and show our friends in Japan God's redemption story (through Jesus) and how it applies to them today."
We sincerely apologize for the lack of general updates and unanswered
emails these past 6-7 months! Covid-19 has kept us on our toes and stopped volunteers coming in to help with the Café and English program at COEN.
Total FOCUS was the only way we could keep on functioning and surviving. Thank
you for your patience with us, including your amazing prayer and support!
The Japanese "blue colour" business tax system is constantly changing. Doing these taxes in Japanese is time consuming and mentally challenging. Dale finally managed to submit these taxes just in time this March!
!), we feel a "spring" in our hearts: we reopened the Café again March 1st (after a six-week Covid closure), and are preparing to welcome three volunteers from the USA who have just received their visas!
Although the snow is melting slowly (we had a LOT of snow this year
Another arrival: Grand-daughter Ava was born to Stephen and Mea on January 31st! Dale now needs to start acting his age!
We say goodbye to COEN Bible Community connected Keith and Celia Olson this month. Keith led the Bible studies in the Café on Tuesdays, helped with Sunday preaching and teaching, and was a helpful handyman. Celia introduced the Japanese tea ceremony to the group and transformed the liturgy.
Karissa Heslep is coming to help in the Café for a year through OMF's Serve Asia program.
Zac and Allison Nance with 8-year old Kayla (and
Grace her cat) are with Links International, and will help Dale with the business side of COEN.

We would not be able to minister in Japan without your prayer backing, support, encouragement and friendship. Thank you!
